Matarau School Cybersafety Rules To be using any computers or electronic equipment in our school you need to abide by the following rules. Failure to comply with these rules will result in loss of computer or electronic equipment privileges. ·I know I cannot use the schools electronic and computer equipment until I know and understand all the rules. I have signed that I understand these rules ·I can use the school computers and other electronic equipment only for school work. ·The internet can only be accessed when permission has been given by a teacher and this is supervised. ·I will not use the schools computers or other electronic equipment to do anything naughty, unkind or dangerous even if my friends are doing it. ·If I accidentally find mean or rude or dangerous things on the computer or other electronic equipment we will notify the teacher straight away without showing other children. ·If I am not feeling safe at anytime or if I’m unsure that I am allowed to do something on the computer or other electronic equipment I will ask the teacher straight away about this. ·I will be careful with the school computers and other electronic equipment and not play around with it. ·I will ask the teacher before changing any settings like screen savers, toolbars and backgrounds. ·I will tell a teacher immediately if I break or damage any equipment. ·I will tell a teacher immediately if I find something broken when I start to use it. ·I will ask a teacher before printing anything, I will not print in colour unless I have permission. ·I will not download any files or programs (such as games or music) without the permission of the teacher in charge of the computer suite. ·I will not bring any games, music or software from outside school to use on school equipment. ·I will ask the teacher to check any disks and electronic equipment (memory sticks, cameras, cards or flash drives) I bring from home before I use it with school equipment. ·I will not copy something that someone else has written and pretend it is mine. ·I will not use school equipment to copy any music, videos or programs. ·If I break these rules, my family may have to be told and there will be consequences.
